We are so excited to be involved in a very special "Yoga On The Lawn" class this coming Sunday, August 29th from 9:30am - 10:30am. All proceeds from this week's class will be donated to Lindsey's Team who will be participating in the Challenge Walk for Multiple Sclerosis. Read below to learn more about our instructor, Lindsey and the reason she walks!
Hello Brewster Family,
I’m Lindsey, a server and yoga instructor at The Brewster Inn for the last two and a half years. I am the wife to my best friend Jacob and together we have four amazing children. As we all know life can have it’s challenges. In the beginning of 2019 Jacob was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This is now just a part of our story. After taking the time to adjust we are now ready to raise awareness. Also to assist when we can in the fund raising efforts to find a cure.
If you asked me what MS was before his diagnosis I wouldn’t have much in the way of information. However, now I know exactly what my husband’s brain looks like. I know all the spots the myelin sheath (coating of the nerves) have been damaged. It’s scary with all the unknowns this disease brings. So, while he can walk, we will walk.
We’ve signed up for Challenge Walk MS—an event that brings together a community of passionate people to connect and raise funds to change the world for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis. The Challenge Walk MS is fifty miles in three days.
MS is an unpredictable and often disabling disease. While we’ve come a long way in understanding and treating MS, there’s still so much more to do. That's why We’re participating and raising funds, and I hope I can count on you to help fuel progress. Donations will drive groundbreaking research and services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives.
This Sunday, August 29th I will be leading a donation based yoga class at The Brewster Inn. Same beautiful location, same all inclusive class. The difference is the cost of the class will be donated to the Challenge Walk MS. I am so grateful for such an amazing place to work. Where we are all treated like family and they are willing to team up with me. I can’t wait to see you all. Thank you for your time. I appreciate each and everyone that took the time to read a little of our story.
