Can you believe we are in our forth year of "Yoga On The Lawn". Starting May 23, we are set to kick off the 2021 season. Each and every Sunday from 9:30AM-10:30AM we will be meeting on The Brewster's back lawn at the waters edge to focus on breath, balance and relaxation. By design, our teachers are diverse in their approach and teaching style. Shake up your fitness routine -- we invite you to soak in the sunshine as you sit lakeside and start your morning with beauty and serenity.

But wait, there's more...
Tickets are $20 per person and include one complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary on us! Life is all about balance. What is discipline without a little indulgence!?

Meet Your Instructor: Lindsey

Your Instructor: Lindsey is a wife to her best friend and a mother of four amazing humans. She has a love for health and fitness. To share that love, she is a personal trainer and a yoga instructor. Helping women to find strength and serenity is her passion. To lift others up and to help guide them to self love fills her heart.
Class Style: A true beginner class for all levels of yoga. She focuses on stretching, breath and balance.
Our Thoughts: Goofy, light-hearted, and fun! Lindsey takes ample time for warm up and gentle stretching. With a minimal emphasis on flow, she highlights different balance and strength poses without over-doing anything. She highlights modified poses for all skill levels and encourages participants to listen to their body and to work towards giving attention to any areas that may need focus. Her all-inclusive, no judgments attitude is perfect for a leisure Sunday wake-up.
Meet Your Instructor: Gyata
Your Instructor: With training in massage therapy, specialized stretching and Forrest Yoga, and over 25 years of teaching experience, Gyata will guide you through an experience that works for your body. In class, you’ll receive general and individual verbal cues to ensure your comfort and the development of your yoga practice.
Class Style: Forrest Yoga was created by and named for Ana T. Forrest in 1982. It is known for "its long holding of positions, emphasis on abdominal core work, and standing series that can go on for 20 poses on each side". Throughout class, we will be focusing on experiencing our connection with our breath and the elements.
Our Thoughts: Yoga with Gyata is all about synchronizing breath, awareness, and movement. Her gentle demeanor calls us to center ourselves, relinquish our scattered thoughts and to be present in the moment. All levels are welcome and modified movements are encouraged for participants. Soaking up the sunshine (or shade!) and listening to the gentle sounds of the moving water is all part of the experience. Gyata does a great job in establishing the delicate balance between challenging poses and gentle flow. We left feeling grounded, challenged and most importantly centered!

Meet Your Instructor: Paige

Your Instructor: Her dance and athletic background sparked her interest in overall health and well-being and led her to practice yoga. Although being a teacher is important, she never want to stop advancing and refining her own practice and journey.
Class Style: Alignment lives within breath, mind and body. Paige's hope is to bring the practice and mindfulness of yoga to the community where she lives. Through a combination of studio teaching as well as traveling workshops, she loves to share the benefits of the practice to groups and individuals in Syracuse. Paige favors alignment-based classes in her personal practice. Paige throughly believes it's essential to keep learning and growing so yoga and its foundations and traditions can be passed on to her students.
Our Thoughts: Paige embodies balance in so many ways, and thats what we aim to do with our yoga on the lawn program. Find calm in the morning, because you know that the craziness of the world will catch up to you in the afternoon. Take time for yourself because you always give time to others. Paige brings a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere to her instruction. Her core focuses are strength and wellness - no judgments, no expectations. Come as you are, and grow your practice in any way you choose.

Meet Your Instructor: Erin

Your Instructor: Erin came to yoga as a way to destress and her teaching style reflects that. As an avid adventurer, her travels have taught her that we’re all just people trying our best to navigate our life experiences. Life isn’t always easy, but having fun and finding joy in the little things sure helps!
Class style: A light-hearted yoga class to flow, fall, and feel good about yourself! Erin’s classes are a playful space to try on new things and see how they fit. She hopes students leave class having smiled involuntarily at least once and feeling ready to take on the day with a positive mindset. Yoga doesn’t have to be so serious!
Our Thoughts: We absolutely love the playful side of yoga. Giving time to yourself and doing something good for your body should never cause you an ounce of stress. Smile, laugh, enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. All those things have fabulous relaxing effects on the body, and that's exactly the how one should start the day!
Meet Your Instructor: Alissa
Your Instructor: Alissa has been practicing yoga for 11 years and trained for her 200 hour training back in 2019 at Caribe Yoga Academy in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Currently she is teaching in manlius at Vyana yoga, where she focuses on vinyasa flow and a yin/vin flow which starts with yin postures and ends with dynamic vinyasa flow.
Class Style: Vinyasa flow style is less one breath one movement and more flow with commitment to stillness in postures, finding physical alignment and spending time in the “edge” of a posture to build strength and stability. I offer modifications for different skill levels so all levels are absolutely welcome.
Our Thoughts: We love the idea of committing to a posture -- getting the maximum benefit out of a pose by really sinking into it deeper and deeper. Intensive stretching and stability are things that benefit any and every body! Possibly a bit more challenging in nature -- but so worth the additional effort. Modifications make it all doable.
